Artist: Tomoko Gillespie’s love of painting started when she took a three month class for basic brush painting in 1999. Since the teacher left the community, she was mostly self-taught. Her best teachers are Museum Visits and Art Book studies. She likes to paint people, their pets, animals and flowers from around her daily life. Tomoko’s heartwarming paintings capture people’s hearts worldwide. She uses her art for fundraising to help children who have suffered from natural and man made disasters: earthquakes, tsunamis and wars.
